Amazon Kindle DX: Portable ebook reader

Amazon Kindle DX: Portable ebook reader

If you haven’t heard, portable ebook readers have allowed thousands of people to do their “fireside” reading without dragging their laptop with them.  They allow you to buy ebooks online and read the ebooks anywhere.

The Amazon Kindle DX is the bigger brother of the Amazon Kindle, and is one of the most well known of these electronic ebook readers.  Weighing in at just under $490 US dollars, it has several features that make it something worth considering.

Ebook Software Versions Available

You can even get it as ebook software that will run on your PC and Iphone with versions for the Mac and Black Berry on the way.

Some of the highlights are that it’s slim, in fact it’s about as thin as many magazines.  It’s also very lightweight, lighter than a typical paperback book.

With 3G Wireless you can download books right from your Kindle DX; no pc, no annual contracts, no monthly fees, and no hunting for Wi-Fi hotspots.  You can download the ebooks in around 60 seconds.

The 3G wireless allows you to download electronic books at home and the 9.7″ e-ink screen reads like real paper and it boasts 16 shades of gray for clear text and sharp images.

It also features an auto-rotation screen.  This means that when you turn the Kindle DX on it’s side it automatically rotates the screen.  This is very useful for looking at charts and graphs.

The long battery life means you can read your 3,500 book collection for days on a single charge.

Easily view PDF ebooks

The Kindle DX can display PDF documents natively, no conversion software needed.  This native PDF support allows you to read all of your personal and professional documents on the go.

Do you like books on tape?  It even has an experimental Text-to-Speech feature so Kindle can read newspapers, magazines, blogs, and books out loud to you, unless the book’s rights holder made the feature unavailable.

You can even download and read first chapters  of books online for free before you decide to buy the book.

Lots of Kindel ebooks available

With over 390,000 online books, plus U.S. and international newspapers, magazines, and blogs you shouldn’t run out of things to read anytime soon.

Electronic Book Prices are quite low.  $9.99 for New York Times Best Sellers and New Releases, unless marked otherwise.

ration books during world war 2

ration books during world war 2
Know anything about world war 2?

Hi guys I am helping my sister write an essay on WW2, can you answer these questions because i cannot seem to find in the textbook or google! How did Japan enter the war? Why the United States in the war? Name two major battles? Why was it important to rationing during the war?

America was keeping a watchful eye "on the situation Natzi but it was not coming European aid despite the fact that Hitler was "march" across Europe. the U.S. position at that time in history was to stay out of battle unless directly affected the battles of America. But without warning and very soon, while all eyes were on "Hitler" and the looting of Europe, the Japanese decided to Pearl Harbor strike. It is quite "unexpected" and without provocation and caught off guard in America. "Thousands of people died. I do not know if the "thinking" behind the attack was known, but … so I remember the Japanese "chose his moment" to try to reclaim the territory of America (Hawaii) and thought sweeping Europe from Hitler would be able to do it "quite easily" … sort of like hitting someone when they are down and out. This brought a new panic to the U.S. government and the troops were met immediately and declared war …. This was a direct attack on America. Hitler also seized the moment "to advance brutally think America would be pre-occupied with Japan would not come to the defense of allies. Japan made a strategic error …. WHY is anybody's guess, but come on Pearl Harbor, then stopped his attack for too long. In general, "accepted" as an opinion if Japan had kept 'hit' the United States had stopped NO … Hitler may well have managed to capture all of Europe. But the attack had Japans a different effect … America brought him FULL SPEED in the war and very easily see how the emergence of two major battles at the same time could destroy the world United States came to the "call of the battle 'and began to help the European allies. But most veterans will tell you that if Europe does not 'had long-fought battle fought … ALL probably would have lost before America ever decided to enter the war. They fought hard and long until America entered the war and helped to "slow" pace Hitlers. Russia was a "decisive factor" that eventually led to Hitler … troops entered the province from Russia and could not withstand cold and horrible struggle. Russia is the only factor that turned the course of the war … and I do not know what battle he was "calling" but it would be a great final battle. The second was the invasion of Normandy ………… Thousands of people lost their lives and knew before they hit the coast that probably I would. We are honored that the battle in what is called 'D-Day' now. It was I think the United States first major offensive against Hitler. Normandy but not taken the loss of many lives, forever shaped the lives of those who lived it. ration was important because each factory America had, almost, had to direct their production to the "war articles and needs" and therefore the products as' gas' sugar ', etc. .. were very scarce. MONEY focused nations to "win this war" and the economy must focus on "war Things' to the needs of the people. The shortages were rampant … so 'rationing' was the answer. It was the way to pay for the countries in this great war and the sacrifice of the American people "for the winner of this war. Many wives and homakers asked 'to go to work for their "country." This was a time when most wives and mothers did not work … so every American was asked to sacrifice for 'his country and the needs of the soldiers who were dying to keep them free. I feel confident that 99 percent of Americans "was an honor" to do so, although the HARD WAR had lasting affects on their lives. Hope this helps … my 'memory' is sometimes 'no' to verify the facts before you write! Blessings, Bunny7
